Mission:
The Sustainable Futures Society at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting and engaging with sustainability across the campus and beyond. Our mission is to raise awareness, educate, and empower students and the wider university community to adopt sustainable practices, foster a culture of environmental consciousness, and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
Objectives:
- Education and Awareness: Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to educate students and staff about various aspects of sustainability, such as renewable energy, waste reduction, sustainable agriculture, and climate change.
- Campus Sustainability: Collaborate with university authorities to implement sustainable practices on campus, including recycling initiatives, energy conservation measures, and eco-friendly infrastructure development.
- Green Events: Plan and execute environmentally friendly events that adhere to sustainable event management principles, promoting responsible resource usage and waste reduction.
- Community Outreach: Engage with local communities to support and participate in sustainability projects, such as community gardens, waste management programs, and environmental cleanups.
- Research and Innovation: Encourage and support student-led research projects focusing on sustainability, providing a platform for students to explore innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
- Advocacy and Policy: Advocate for sustainable policies and practices within the university administration, working to embed sustainability principles into institutional decision-making.
